How goes it Book Friends?!

Made it officially halfway through our year and the books are just flowing! I’ve recently found a few book sales near me/online and, if I do say so myself, my book hauls were VERY successful. Finding places on my shelves are becoming harder, but I see that as a fantastic problem to have! 😅

We are finally getting past the first of the raining seasons (2nd season is from Sept-Oct) in Georgia but when one extreme weather leaves the next shows. The heat and humidity has arrived…. Fans, bodies of water, and the AC have become our best friends. And the only safe times to go outside are between 8pm-7am. Yes, I meant to list that as evening hours. Because if you can see the sun in the sky… hide. It is way too damn hot to be outside during the other parts of the day. And if you have to be out there, make sure you are inside by 11am. Or you will feel like you’re wading and not walking around out there.

With all of the heat, I definitely worry about about my books this time of year. The humidity in the southern USA is no joke. You walk outside are you are basically breathing in water it can feel so thick. And if you have any books by windows, in your bags with out walking around, left in your cars, or any other reason a book would be exposed to the outside world for any length of time, watch out! They can swell up or start too curl if you aren’t careful. It is such a sad thing to see. So be vigilant where you leave your book cargo while you are visiting or living down here. I know it isn’t the hottest place to live or the worse conditions out there, but in my little world it is!

I know this weekend is going to be full of 4th of July celebrations since it falls on a Tuesday this year. Enjoy those fireworks and cookouts! I know my family will be certainly cooking out and watching the neighbors set a few fireworks off. It is always such a fun day to celebrate with friends and family around. Cheers to a fun weekend that will stretch thru Tuesday night (if the weather holds) and hopefully everyone’s jobs will be nice throughout the last part of the week!

Hope everyone’s July is wonderful! Happy 4th of July!

Reading Theme: Juicy July

Why keep the romance for only February? I think a good romance story is something we should always indulge in. Who doesn’t want to read about something spicy, romantic, or even smutty? So, while it is sweltering outside in the summer sun, let’s bring a little heat and some steam inside to our reading this month. Grab those romance books and lets see how Juicy our July’s reading can get!

Happy Reading Everyone!

My Reading List for July 2023:

Good Girl By Piper Lawson

I wanted to fall for a man. Instead I fell for a legend…

The month I wrote my first piece of code, Jax Jamieson launched his third platinum album.

The week I drank my first beer, he spent in jail.

The day I got under his skin, I wound up on his tour.

And the night he gave me his hoodie…

I fell in love forever.

Mine To Have By Natasha Madison

Harlow
I promised him I would be there for the best day of his life.
Not thinking I wouldn’t be the one standing next to him.
But here I was attending the love of my life’s wedding day.
I smiled when I saw him and pushed back the tears that wanted to come out.
This was his day and I was going to fulfill my promise.

TravisTravis
It was supposed to be the best day of my life.
But the second I got up, things started to fall apart.
The kitchen just caught on fire.
Flowers were from a funeral.
My bride-to-be just had an allergic reaction leaving by ambulance.
Oh and my ex-girlfriend just walked into the church.
They say you have to see the signs when they are right in front of you.
Maybe she was just mine to have.

Haunting Adeline By H.D. Carlton

The Manipulator
I can manipulate the emotions of anyone who lets me.
I will make you hurt, make you cry, make you laugh and sigh.
But my words don’t affect him. Especially not when I plead for him to leave.
He’s always there, watching and waiting.
And I can never look away.
Not when I want him to come closer.

The Shadow
I didn’t mean to fall in love.
But now that I have, I can’t stay away.
I’m mesmerized by her smile, by her eyes, and the way she moves.
The way she undresses…
I’ll keep watching and waiting. Until I can make her mine.
And once she is, I’ll never let her go.
Not even when she begs me to.
