Hey Bookish Peeps!

We’ve made it through January pretty quick in my opinion. Although that could have also been because I have been waiting for Sarah Maas to release her Crescent City book 3 at the very end of it! I was able to even go to a Midnight releasing of the book with one of my sisters and a friend. It was so much freaking fun! If you’ve never gotten a chance to go and do one of those, I highly suggest it. You are surrounded by others who are equally infatuated with whatever the series is and the author. So everyone is talking theories and recalling their favorite parts about the same books. And, if it is a book midnight release, you guys are all book nerds! Who else would you want to spend your evenings with?

You get to be discussing books ALL night with others who are also invested in reading. – and not required to listen to your book rants because you’re married or something. HA! Thank you to my husband for always lending me an ear when I need one for my book speeches. – Maybe read some books while waiting at the party. We had gotten there a bit before the party started and it was held at a Barnes and Noble. So, I went and found the book I was currently reading from the shelves and found a comfy spot. And I wasn’t the only one! I was ecstatic to chat with others about it since I am usually the first one done with books in my usual circle of reading people! (I was finishing up book 2 of the Bargainer series by Laura Thalassa which is SO GOOD!) And of course as soon as that clock chimes midnight, we were allowed to buy our books and off the races for reading you guys. Although, I would suggest that you take that following day off from work unless you work an evening shift, but more because you can read the day away.

I don’t know if you guys have heard about Spotify joining in on the Audiobook train, but since kicking it off officially in October of ’23, they have been crushing it lately. They were willing to go up against Audible which is just crazy to me! I’m eager to watch and see what is going to happen between these two powerhouses of entertainment for the audiobook world. I am an avid user of audiobooks since I drive so much for work (about 2 hours a day) and I can listen to them while doing stuff around the house that would otherwise occupy my hands. I know that they aren’t for everyone, but with so many books out there that I want to read, this lets me have a “chance” to catch up some with my TBR lists. I haven’t used Spotify’s stuff yet, but Audible and Libby (a library app for the USA) are constantly playing for me. Maybe someone else will join the running and audiobooks will become even more widely spread for people to get ahold of? Looks like there might be another digital library about to be built up for me.

Happy reading you guys!

Reading Theme: Colors in the titles

While everyone else might be coloring in hearts and flowers for the month of love, I figured I’d go find my own colors thru the covers of books. So all my books this month are going to have different colors within their titles. This one was quite fun to look around for. I was quite surprised at the amount of books that actually have colors in their titles across so many genres! If you want to check out a full list of other titles that have colors in the name, I found this list on Goodreads that was super helpful: Popsugar 2023 List. Time to go ‘paint’ my month away in some pages everyone!

Happy Reading Everyone!
